Its compact size and elegant appearance make it a popular choice for homes and offices alike.
This plant ships in a 4 inch nursery pot with many stems.
Note that plants pictured are representative of the size, fullness, health and maturity of the plant we will ship.
After unboxing, keep your new plant in bright indirect light for about a week to let it bounce back from the stresses of shipping. Check roots for rot, and water as needed. Refrain from repotting for at least one month. While we inspect every plant for pest and health before shipping, its best practice to inspect and isolate your new plant for up to a month to limit pest spread. If your plant arrives with any issue, reach out to our team with pictures if possible!
Plant Shipping Disclaimer: Live plants have different sensitivity levels to shipping stress including but not limited to shipping route/facility weather or being boxed up without light or ventilation for days at a time. Yellowing/lose of leaves, root rot, wrinkling of stems, discoloration, and other signs of shipping stress can be expected to some degree. Minor damage as listed above sometimes cannot be mitigated even through the best of practices per each plants unique sensitivities. Minor and Expected stress on live plants shipped by Scorpio Gardens as listed above cannot be considered for refunds. To minimize stress on your plants in transit, consider adding “heated packaging” for packages traveling through regions experiencing 40 degrees or less and upgrading to Express 2nd Day Mail
Light Requirements: Parlour Palms prefer bright, indirect light. They can tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly in such environments. Protect them from direct sunlight, which can scorch their leaves.
Watering Needs: Keep the soil of your Parlour Palm consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top inch of the potting mix feels dry. Adjust your watering frequency based on the season, watering more sparingly in winter.
Soil Type: Plant your Parlour Palm in a well-draining, peat-based potting mix. A mixture of peat moss and perlite or sand provides good aeration and moisture retention.
Temperature and Climate: Parlour Palms thrive in average indoor temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). They appreciate some humidity if available.
Fertilization: Feed your Parlour Palm with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can harm the plant.
Pruning and Maintenance: Prune dead or yellowing fronds to maintain the plant's appearance. Parlour Palms are relatively low-maintenance and require minimal pruning.
Pests and Diseases: These palms are generally resistant to pests and diseases. However, keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites or mealybugs, and take appropriate action if necessary.
Toxicity: Good news for pet owners and families: Parlour Palms are non-toxic to cats, dogs, and humans, making them a safe choice for households with curious pets or young children.
