After unboxing, keep your new plant in bright indirect light for about a week to let it bounce back from the stresses of shipping. Check roots for rot, and water as needed. Refrain from repotting for at least one month. While we inspect every plant for pest and health before shipping, its best practice to inspect and isolate your new plant for up to a month to limit pest spread. If your plant arrives with any issue, reach out to our team  with pictures if possible!

Growth Pattern: This Schefflera variety displays a bushy and compact growth habit. Its glossy, palmate leaves feature a beautiful variegation of creamy-white or yellow against a rich green background, creating a visually appealing contrast.

Light Requirements: Position your Variegated Umbrella Tree in bright, indirect light for optimal growth and leaf variegation. It can adapt to moderate light conditions but may lose some of its distinctive coloration in lower light settings.

Watering Needs: Maintain even soil moisture for your Variegated Umbrella Tree. Water when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch, typically every 1-2 weeks, depending on environmental factors. Ensure proper drainage in the pot to prevent overwatering.

Soil Type: Plant this Schefflera variety in a well-draining, airy potting mix. A blend of regular potting soil with perlite or orchid mix works well to provide the necessary drainage and aeration.

Temperature and Climate: Variegated Umbrella Tree thrives in indoor temperatures ranging from 60-75°F (15-24°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts, and maintain stable, mild conditions for optimal growth.

Fertilization: Feed your Variegated Umbrella Tree with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization during the fall and winter when growth slows.

Pruning and Maintenance: Prune this Schefflera variety to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth. Remove any leggy stems or yellowing leaves to keep it looking tidy and healthy.

Pests and Diseases: Variegated Umbrella Tree is generally resistant to pests and diseases. However, keep an eye out for common indoor pests like spider mites or mealybugs. If infestations occur, address them promptly with appropriate treatments.

Toxicity: It's essential to note that the Variegated Umbrella Tree's sap can be mildly toxic if ingested. Keep it out of reach of pets and children, and exercise caution when handling.
