Lucky Bamboo (Dracaena braunii)
Lucky Bamboo is a beloved indoor plant renowned for its graceful, upright stems and lush green foliage. Despite its name, it's not a true bamboo but rather a member of the Dracaena family.
This bunch comes with 10 - 24 inch stalks of curly lucky bamboo. Will ship bare root.
Note that plants pictured are representative of the size, fullness, health and maturity of the plant we will ship.
After unboxing, keep your new plant in bright indirect light for about a week to let it bounce back from the stresses of shipping. Check roots for rot, and place in water. While we inspect every plant for pest and health before shipping, its best practice to inspect and isolate your new plant for up to a month to limit pest spread. If your plant arrives with any issue, reach out to our team with pictures if possible!
Plant Shipping Disclaimer: Live plants have different sensitivity levels to shipping stress including but not limited to shipping route/facility weather or being boxed up without light or ventilation for days at a time. Yellowing/lose of leaves, root rot, wrinkling of stems, discoloration, and other signs of shipping stress can be expected to some degree. Minor damage as listed above sometimes cannot be mitigated even through the best of practices per each plants unique sensitivities. Minor and Expected stress on live plants shipped by Scorpio Gardens as listed above cannot be considered for refunds. To minimize stress on your plants in transit, consider adding “heated packaging” for packages traveling through regions experiencing 40 degrees or less and upgrading to Express 2nd Day Mail.
Light Requirements: Lucky Bamboo thrives in bright, indirect light, making it an ideal choice for indoor settings. It can tolerate low light conditions but grows best with some natural sunlight.
Watering Needs: Maintain the plant's well-being by keeping its roots submerged in water. Change the water every two to four weeks or when it becomes cloudy. Lucky Bamboo is quite forgiving if you forget to water occasionally.
Soil Type: This plant doesn't require traditional soil. Instead, it grows in water or in well-draining, aquatic potting soil if you prefer to plant it in a container.
Temperature and Climate: Lucky Bamboo prefers a comfortable indoor temperature range of 65-90°F (18-32°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or extreme temperature fluctuations.
Fertilization: Feed your Lucky Bamboo every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. This will help maintain its vibrant green color.
Pruning and Maintenance: Trim the stalks to achieve your desired height or shape. Use clean, sharp scissors to snip the stems just above a node. Minimal pruning is needed for this low-maintenance plant.
Pests and Diseases: Lucky Water Bamboo is generally pest and disease-resistant. Keep an eye out for algae growth in the water, which can be managed by changing the water regularly.
Landscape and Use: This elegant plant is perfect for adding a touch of nature to your home or office. It's often used in decorative arrangements, such as lucky bamboo arrangements in vases or pots.
