Note that plants pictured are representative of the size, fullness, health and maturity of the plant we will ship.

After unboxing, keep your new plant in bright indirect light for about a week to let it bounce back from the stresses of shipping. Check roots for rot, and water as needed. Refrain from repotting for at least one month. While we inspect every plant for pest and health before shipping, its best practice to inspect and isolate your new plant for up to a month to limit pest spread. If your plant arrives with any issue, reach out to our team with pictures if possible!

Plant Shipping Disclaimer: Live plants have different sensitivity levels to shipping stress including but not limited to shipping route/facility weather or being boxed up without light or ventilation for days at a time. Yellowing/lose of leaves, root rot, wrinkling of stems, discoloration, and other signs of shipping stress can be expected to some degree. Minor damage as listed above sometimes cannot be mitigated even through the best of practices per each plants unique sensitivities. To minimize stress on your plants in transit, consider adding “heated packaging” for packages traveling through regions experiencing 40 degrees or less and upgrading to Express 2nd Day Mail

Growth Pattern: This Peperomia variety features compact, bushy growth, making it an ideal choice for small spaces and tabletop displays. Its leaves are round, thick, and beautifully patterned with silver and dark green stripes, closely resembling a watermelon's skin.

Light Requirements: Place your Watermelon Peperomia in bright, indirect light to maintain its attractive leaf patterns. It can tolerate lower light conditions but may exhibit less pronounced markings in such settings.

Watering Needs: Maintain moderately moist soil for your Watermelon Peperomia. Water it when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering, as excessive moisture can lead to root rot.

Soil Type: Plant this Peperomia in a well-draining potting mix to ensure proper moisture balance. A blend of regular indoor potting soil with perlite or orchid mix provides the necessary aeration.

Temperature and Climate: Watermelon Peperomia thrives in indoor temperatures ranging from 65-75°F (18-24°C). Avoid exposing it to drafts and extreme temperature fluctuations.

Fertilization: Feed your Watermelon Peperomia with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce fertilization in the fall and winter when growth slows.

Pruning and Maintenance: Prune your Watermelon Peperomia as needed to maintain its compact shape. Remove any leggy growth or yellowing leaves to promote healthy foliage.

Pests and Diseases: Watermelon Peperomia is generally resistant to pests and diseases. However, keep an eye out for common indoor pests like mealybugs or spider mites. If infestations occur, address them promptly with suitable treatments.

Toxicity: This Peperomia variety is considered non-toxic to pets and humans. You can enjoy its beauty without worrying about potential harm.

Additional Tips:

  1. Rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth and balanced leaf development.
  2. Regularly wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust and maintain their glossy appearance.
