Note that plants pictured are representative of the size, fullness, health and maturity of the plant we will ship.
After unboxing, keep your new plant in bright indirect light for about a week to let it bounce back from the stresses of shipping. Check roots for rot, and water as needed.
Refrain from repotting for at least one month. While we inspect every plant for pest and health before shipping, its best practice to inspect and isolate your new plant for up to a month to limit pest spread. If your plant arrives with any issue, reach out to our team with pictures if possible!
Plant Shipping Disclaimer: Live plants have different sensitivity levels to shipping stress including but not limited to shipping route/facility weather or being boxed up without light or ventilation for days at a time. Yellowing/lose of leaves, root rot, wrinkling of stems, discoloration, and other signs of shipping stress can be expected to some degree. Minor damage as listed above sometimes cannot be mitigated even through the best of practices per each plants unique sensitivities. Minor and Expected stress on live plants shipped by Scorpio Gardens as listed above cannot be considered for refunds. To minimize stress on your plants in transit, consider adding “heated packaging” for packages traveling through regions experiencing 40 degrees or less and upgrading to Express 2nd Day Mail
Light Requirements: For optimal growth, provide your Hawaiian Pothos with bright, indirect light. It can also tolerate lower light conditions but may grow more slowly and smaller leaves. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.
Watering Needs: Keep the soil of your Hawaiian Pothos consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure proper drainage to prevent overwatering, which can lead to root issues.
Soil Type: Plant your Hawaiian Pothos in well-draining potting soil. A mix with perlite or orchid bark provides the right balance of moisture retention and drainage.
Temperature and Climate: This tropical plant thrives in typical indoor temperatures and humidity levels, making it a perfect fit for most homes and offices.
Fertilization: Feed your Hawaiian Pothos with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Dilute the fertilizer to half strength to avoid overfeeding. Reduce or cease fertilization during the dormant winter months.
Pruning and Maintenance: Maintaining the Hawaiian Pothos is hassle-free. Trim any yellowing or damaged leaves to keep the plant looking its best. With minimal maintenance requirements, it's an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced plant enthusiasts.
Pests and Diseases: Hawaiian Pothos is generally hardy against pests and diseases. However, perform regular inspections for common houseplant pests like mealybugs or spider mites. If pests are present, address them promptly with neem oil or insecticidal soap.
Landscape and Use: The Hawaiian Pothos brings a touch of the tropics to your indoor oasis. Its lush foliage complements various interior decor styles and makes it an excellent choice for accent tables, shelves, or as a hanging plant.
Additional Tips:
- Propagate the Hawaiian Pothos through stem cuttings in water or soil to expand your plant collection.
Toxicity: Please note that the Hawaiian Pothos, like other Pothos varieties, is toxic if ingested. Take precautions to keep it out of the reach of pets and children.
